Who is the best value player we have acquired over the past ten years?

We have probably concluded 50+ player transfers into our club over the past 10 years. Who do you think represents the best value and why?

Winston Reid has to be considered for 2.5m or whatever it was.
Long term servant for the club now and important player for us.

I'd imagine it's a number far, far higher than that, we've had 12 incomings this season!
I would have to say for the return on fee probably Antonio automatically springs to mind. Even Payet based on how much we paid and what he produced last season. Cresswell for 4.5m was superb value. As was Kouyate for about 8m. Jimmy Collins has been a great servant, twice over. Randolph has been a good signing on a freebie too.

Reid was about 4m I thought. Quite a lot at the time, especially when he looked completely out of his depth in his first few games. Just shows that we can be a bit hasty judging players.

For all the moans about our directors we do have some quite good value for money signings in our squad.
Our 2 current FBs were cheap from the Championship. Our keepers were all freebies iirc? Reid was £4m, Payet £10m. Lanzini £7m, Obiang was about £4m iirc Antonio £7m and even Ogbonna was good value at £10m.

Nearly 200 games now, he's 28, and got another 5 good years. Hopefully with us.
If it wasn't for "Mr West Ham", he'd be skipper... would be proud to be, and I would be more than happy with that as well. Need more Hammers 4 LIFE!

Depends what you're looking at. Ten years ago it would seem ridiculous to count players who cost millions as good 'value', but no denying cresswell and Antonio are worth far more than we paid for them. Ten million isn't a bargain but he who shall not be named could be seen as a bargain if we more than double our money in 18 months.
But then vaz te cost next to nothing and without his goals we wouldn't have gone up. And Adrian and Randolph have been very good freebies.
